Our view when we woke up this morning.
View this afternoon.
This morning we went back to the Island to do our last trip on the Big Bus Red line which took us around the inner central area. This was very busy getting caught up with the busy traffic. Wasn't as relaxing as the green line trip yesterday when we got out of the central area.
Another very hot humid sunny day. This trip took 1 and 1/2 hours, travelling through the very modern central area into the older areas.
Des you asked for a photo of the outside of our hotel which I took as we left the hotel this morning. The tallest building on the right. It is 39 floors and we are on 31.
We then walked along the waterfront along to the ferry buildings. 15 min walk.
It is a very pleasant walk looking out over to the Island where we are heading for our last Big Bus trip.
Showing how wide this promenade is right along the waterfront.
Looking along the harbour. Hong Kong Island on left Kowloon on right. A little further along is where we caught the ferry.
Ferries crossing the harbour.
Town clock
Passed this sanpan as we were crossing over to the Island which they call Central.
Now on the Island this shot looking along the main central area
The next five photos are showing the modern glass buildings which are all modern compared with the old areas.
There are so many construction sites like this. So much development going on. A fast moving city.
PT on The Big Bus looking down the old areas.
The even have trams on the island.
Looking back to Kowloon.
Back at Kowloon now. We went up Nathan Road again on The big Bus to go to Ladies market. I am sitting on the top deck leaning right out to take photo.
Some more of the old apartments
So many high rise apartments old and new just amazing.
.
Note the scaffholding of bamboo all about 2 to 3 inches thick. Its everywhere and built up to high levels.
Still going up Nathan Road
Quick walk through the markets
Inside Harbour City huge shopping complex goes forever. We were sitting having a coffee while taking this photo.
Looking further down the harbour northern end. Look at all the high rise apartments. You see these everywhere. The ship on the left is where the old Kai Tak International airport used to be and now used as a shipping port.
These above and below photos are some more which I took from my phone yesterday up Victoria Peak up behind central with Kowloon across the water.
Another enjoyable day. Great city to visit but hot and humid.
